About BoilR

BoilR is an open-source tool that adds games from other launchers and stores to a Steam library, so they can be started from Steam. According to the project, it adds almost all detected games, including image art, through Steam's third-party shortcuts feature, and the stated goal is that users do not need to leave Steam to launch games from other sources. Most users are expected to open BoilR and click Import Games without further configuration.

Support varies by source platform and operating system. The project's table lists, for example, GOG games as unsupported on Windows-only paths and Linux games from Itch.io as supported only on Linux. BoilR is available as a Flatpak through Flathub and as an AUR package, and the Flatpak version has limitations compared with the native version. A 2.0 beta with a new interface, designed for the Steam Deck, is offered separately on Flathub.
