About CHIANTI
CHIANTI is an atomic database and software package for spectroscopic diagnostics of astrophysical plasmas. It provides a critically evaluated set of up-to-date atomic data and programs written in Interactive Data Language (IDL) and Python that calculate spectra from astrophysical plasmas.
The package is freely available. Users are asked to acknowledge CHIANTI when they use it. The current IDL routines are version 11.0.5, a minor update that improves ch_setup_ion and ch_synthetic for very large ion models. Solarsoft users are asked to update their distribution, and other users can download the IDL routines from the download page. The project is listed as a collaboration between George Mason University, the University of Michigan, the University of Cambridge, and NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.
