About Emu Ready

EmuReady is a community-driven, open-source platform for tracking how games run across emulators, handhelds, mobile hardware, and PC configurations. Users can browse compatibility reports by game, platform, hardware, emulator, and performance, submit their own reports, compare setups, and attach emulator-specific settings and notes so results can be reproduced. Comments, votes, reports, and moderation tools are used to keep the catalog useful, and administrators maintain game, hardware, emulator, custom field, and approval data.

The project is a Next.js application written in TypeScript, using PostgreSQL with Prisma, tRPC, Clerk for authentication, and Tailwind CSS, with Vitest and Playwright for testing. The repository covers local development, Docker setup, and a self-hosting container contract; running it locally requires Node.js matching .nvmrc, pnpm via Corepack, PostgreSQL, and Clerk credentials for authenticated flows. A production site is available at www.emuready.com, and the code is licensed under GPL-3.0-or-later.
