About GitHub CLI

GitHub CLI, called gh, is a command-line tool for using GitHub from a terminal. It is free and open source and can be installed on macOS, Windows, and Linux.

With it you can view and filter open issues, check pull request status, check out pull requests locally, and create new pull requests. You can also view checks for pull requests, create releases, view repository READMEs, and run GitHub Copilot from the command line. It supports custom aliases for commands, scripting through the GitHub API, and connections to both GitHub.com and GitHub Enterprise Server.
