IWE
IWE turns Markdown files into a queryable knowledge graph with editor, command-line, and agent memory tools.

About IWE
IWE is an open source tool for keeping project notes as connected Markdown documents, such as specs, plans, and decisions, in a folder on your own machine. Notes can link to each other, and one note can belong to several topics. The same files can be edited in a native Mac app, in Neovim, Helix, VS Code, or Zed, or searched and managed from the command line.
IWE can also be used with an existing Claude or Codex agent, which can read, write, and organize the notes. Notes saved by the agent are ordinary Markdown files that you can browse, correct, or delete. Neither the IWE CLI nor the Mac app includes an AI model, and connecting an agent involves that agent's own setup and account requirements. You do not need an IWE cloud account to keep your notes.
