About Krush

Krush2 is a bitcrusher audio plugin that combines bit-depth reduction, sample-rate reduction, filtering, and compression. It can be used for subtle texture and density or pushed to aggressive lo-fi distortion. The plugin includes a drive stage, analog-modeled resonant filters, and a modulation section with two stereo LFOs.

Krush2 installs as a separate plugin and does not replace the original Krush, so existing projects are not affected. The Krush2 demo is fully functional, but its audio fades out occasionally. A KrushPro licence unlocks Krush2, or a Krush2 licence can be purchased separately. Krush2 runs on Windows 10/11 with a VST3 host or Pro Tools, and on macOS 10.15 or later (Intel and ARM) with an Audio Units host, a VST3 host, or Pro Tools.

Key features

  • Bit-depth reduction and sample-rate reduction in one plugin
  • Warm drive stage with up to 8x oversampling
  • Analog-modeled resonant filters, including comb and band-pass types
  • Two stereo LFOs with adjustable L/R phase offset
  • One-knob compressor with Phat mode
  • Filter position switch for pre- or post-filter placement
Best for: Music producers and sound designers who want to add lo-fi texture, grit, or aggressive crunch to audio within a VST3, AU, or Pro Tools workflow.
Good for
  • Covers a wide range, from subtle enhancement to heavy, crunchy effects
  • Installs separately, so existing Krush projects are not affected
  • Automatically detects original Krush user presets and offers to import them
Watch out for
  • The demo's audio fades out occasionally
  • Windows requires a VST3 host or Pro Tools
  • The original Krush is free but no longer maintained
