Mailfence
Mailfence provides encrypted email with free access, interoperability, and privacy protections under Belgian law.
About Mailfence
Mailfence is an encrypted email service offered through a web interface, with mobile access listed for iOS and Android. The homepage says encryption happens in the browser, so that the service and others on the connection cannot read messages in transit, and that the service is fully interoperable with any OpenPGP service. It also lists POP3S, IMAPS, and SMTPS access for use with other mail clients.
The homepage describes the service as having no ads, trackers, or tracking, and says Belgian privacy law provides legal protection under which only local judges can request information, with a court order. It also lists a free option with 1 GB of storage. Statements such as "free from government surveillance" are the provider's own claims and are not independently verified here. Pricing for paid plans is not confirmed in this entry.
