About MonsterWriter

MonsterWriter is a web-based writing tool for students and researchers working on theses, papers, and other academic documents. It provides document editing, citation management, and a LaTeX workspace in one place.

When creating a document, you choose one of two types. LaTeX Workspace provides a code editor with syntax highlighting and real-time PDF preview. Documents provides a distraction-free editor that does not require LaTeX knowledge. Both types support automatic numbering of headings, figures, and tables, citations created from DOI, ISBN, URL, arXiv, or PubMed identifiers, and changing citation style across a document. Documents can be exported to PDF, DOCX, LaTeX, or Markdown, with template selection at export.
