About Netherlands Cancer Registry

The Netherlands Cancer Registry (NCR) is the national cancer registration maintained by the Netherlands Comprehensive Cancer Organisation (IKNL). It records information on newly diagnosed cancer patients in the Netherlands, including diagnosis, tumour staging according to the TNM classification, tumour site and morphology according to ICD-O-3, co-morbidity at diagnosis, and treatment received directly after diagnosis. Data are available at national level from 1989 onwards and are collected by IKNL registration employees. The website provides NCR data & figures, where users can create graphs and tables on cancer incidence, prevalence, survival and mortality, with data available from 1989 to 2020; 2020 data are preliminary. It also describes data request and scientific review procedures, linkage between IKNL and PALGA, a synthetic dataset, and the Dutch Cancer Atlas.
