About Maddison Project
The Maddison Project was initiated in March 2010 by colleagues of Angus Maddison to support cooperation between scholars continuing his work on measuring economic performance for different regions, time periods and subtopics. Its database builds on Maddison's original dataset, keeping original estimates intact and revising them only when more and better information is available, while the unaltered final dataset remains available separately.
