About Pairdrop

PairDrop is a browser-based tool for sending images, documents, and text between devices over a peer-to-peer connection. On a local network, devices can discover each other without setup or signup, and transfers over the Internet are supported between paired devices or devices in the same temporary public room.

Paired devices are linked with a 6-digit code or QR code and remain discoverable after reopening PairDrop. Public rooms are joined with a 5-letter code or QR code and end when PairDrop is closed. The project is open source and can be self-hosted with custom STUN/TURN servers.
