About reactpress

ReactPress is an open source publishing system for React developers. It combines a self-hosted content management system (CMS), a writing interface called Admin, a headless REST API, swappable Next.js frontend themes, server plugins, and a desktop writing app in one project. The project is MIT licensed. Content is managed in the platform, and presentation is handled by a theme or another headless client.

The default setup uses embedded SQLite and does not require Docker or an external database. It requires Node.js 20 or later. The project's own quick start runs a public site on localhost:3001, an Admin area at /admin/, and an API health endpoint on port 3002. The homepage also shows an audit of the official theme demo (a screenshot) with a Lighthouse Performance score of 95 and scores of 100 for Accessibility, Best Practices, and SEO. The source notes that these numbers should be re-run on the user's own host and content.
