About Schism Tracker
Schism Tracker is a free, open-source reimplementation of Impulse Tracker, a music creation tool designed to produce high-quality audio without specialized, expensive equipment, while retaining the original's distinctive "finger feel". Its built-in player uses a highly modified ModPlug engine with bugfixes and adjustments to improve playback of Impulse Tracker files. Unlike the original Impulse Tracker, which was limited to i386-based MS-DOS systems, Schism Tracker runs on almost any platform supported by SDL, including Windows, macOS, Linux, web, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, AmigaOS, BeOS, Wii, Wii U, XBOX, and Mac OS 9. It will likely build on most architectures supported by GCC, though it may not be well-optimized on many of these systems.
