Download Steam Workshop items through a graphical interface for SteamCMD.

About SCMD
SCMD Workshop Downloader 2 is an open-source Windows application that provides a graphical interface for SteamCMD, the command-line tool Valve uses to download Steam content. It is built to make downloading Steam Workshop items easier: it analyzes the links you enter, recognizes whether they point to individual items or collections, shows a preview of those links and generates a functional SteamCMD script that downloads the corresponding files. It can also create scripts intended for updating game servers, change the folder where files are saved, customize the application's color palette and optionally handle items larger than 300 MB.
Key features
- Download Steam Workshop mods through a graphical interface
- Process and download complete Steam Workshop collections
- Generate SteamCMD scripts, including ones for updating servers
- Preview entered links before downloading
- Change the folder where downloaded files are saved
- Option to download items larger than 300 MB
- Open source under the MIT license, so the code can be inspected
- SteamCMD itself can be downloaded from inside the application
- Warns when an entered link belongs to a game that restricts Workshop downloads
- Stated as requiring Windows 10 64-bit; other systems are untested
- SteamCMD will not work if its folder name contains non-English characters
- May be flagged as a false positive by antivirus software because of PyInstaller packaging
- Whether a Workshop item can be downloaded without buying the game depends on the game's creators, not the app
