About SpaceSim

SpaceSim is a browser-based 3D simulation for traveling across the Solar System. It lets users visit the Sun, planets, the Moon, moons, dwarf planets, an asteroid and a comet, change time, inspect source-backed world information, and collect postcards.

It also includes guided journeys such as a tour across the eight planets and an ISS trajectory, and a procedural tool for building stars and opening known stars and compact objects. Postcards are artist’s impressions, not observations or measured maps, and the stellar laboratory is described as experimental.

Key features

  • Travel the Solar System and change time in 3D
  • Follow narrated Grand Tour across all eight planets from Sun
  • Follow pinned NASA ISS trajectory from Earth-limb observer
  • Tune bounded stellar model by mass, heat, age and family
  • Navigate Luminet black hole simulation with accretion disk
  • Collect postcards while inspecting source-backed worlds
Best for: People who want to explore Solar System bodies and stars in 3D in a browser.
