statsmodels
statsmodels provides statistical modeling and econometrics tools in Python.

About statsmodels
statsmodels is an open source Python package that complements scipy for statistical computations. It covers descriptive statistics and the estimation and inference of statistical models. Its main model families include linear and discrete regression, time series analysis, survival analysis, multivariate methods, and a wide range of statistical tests.
The package can be installed from PyPI as binaries or source, or through Anaconda with conda. Its sandbox folder holds code still in development and testing, which the project does not consider production ready. The source notes that pandas has a more recent version of the Stata .dta file reader.
Key features
- Linear regression models, including ordinary, generalized, and weighted least squares
- Discrete choice models such as Logit, Probit, and Poisson regression
- Time series models, including seasonal ARIMA, VAR, and state space frameworks
- Survival analysis with Cox proportional hazards and Kaplan-Meier estimation
- Multivariate methods such as principal component and factor analysis
- Statistical tests, diagnostics, and imputation with MICE
- Covers many model families in one open source Python package
- Available through PyPI and Anaconda
- Documentation is published for both the stable release and the development version
- Code in the sandbox folder is not considered production ready
- The Stata .dta reader is older than the version in pandas
