About steam-for-linux
This repository is the public issue tracker for Valve's Steam for Linux beta client. It hosts the client README with system requirements and .deb installation steps, and explains how to search existing reports and submit new ones with titles, reproduction steps, system information, logs, and crash data.
Use is limited to recent 64-bit Ubuntu or Ubuntu LTS, with 64-bit and 32-bit graphics drivers and glibc. From 2025-08-15 glibc 2.31 or newer is required, and older LTS branches such as Ubuntu 18.04 or older are not supported.
