About Study Craft

StudyCraft is an open source, multi-platform desktop application that creates study materials from your own sources. You can import PDFs, Markdown or TXT files, websites, and GitHub repositories, then edit the materials. Flashcard decks and tests can be written by hand or generated automatically with large language models (LLMs). Review uses an Anki-style spaced repetition system. The app also tracks study sessions and shows progress in charts. It is built with Rust and Svelte using the Tauri framework.

According to the source, all user data is stored locally. The only data sent over the internet is chunks of documents that the user chooses to generate review materials from via LLMs. The source states that StudyCraft is available on Windows, macOS, and Linux through installers on its Releases page. Building from source requires Node.js 18 or higher, the latest stable Rust, npm or pnpm, and Python 3.10.
