About Synfig

Synfig Studio is free and open-source software for 2D animation on Windows, Linux and macOS. It uses vector and bitmap artwork and calculates in-between frames from key positions, so animation does not need to be created frame by frame.

It offers more than 50 layer types, a bone system for cutout animation, and linking of layer parameters directly or with mathematical expressions. Downloads are available as a tested Stable version and a Development version with experimental features, with listed minimums of a dual-core 2 GHz CPU and 2 GB RAM.
