About UEVR

UEVR is a utility that injects into games built on Unreal Engine 4.8 through 5.6 to render them in virtual reality. Injection is done through a frontend GUI, and output supports OpenVR and OpenXR runtimes, stereoscopic 3D rendering, and full 6DOF head tracking. Optional capabilities include 3DOF motion controls, roomscale movement, comfort options such as snap-turn and world scale adjustment, controller haptics, OpenXR supersampling, per-game configurations, and a plugin system with Lua scripting and a C/C++ API.

Three rendering methods are offered: Native Stereo, Synchronized Sequential, and Alternating/AFR. The site states that Native Stereo can cause crashes or graphical bugs in some games, that Synchronized Sequential may introduce ghosting in temporal effects such as TAA, and that AFR is not synchronized and generally should not be used unless the other methods are unusable. Headset compatibility is described as based on tester reports, with a listed set of tested models.
