About URLCheck

URLCheck is an Android app that acts as an intermediary when opening URL links. It can remove trackers, affiliate links and unnecessary elements, check hosts, assist with holding and sharing links, and address certain phishing techniques. It uses a built-in catalog copied from ClearURLs, StevenBlack's Hosts, VirusTotal, and the Unshorten.me API.

The Play Store, F-Droid and GitHub versions are signed with different certificates and cannot update across versions without uninstalling first. The project page lists the package name com.trianguloy.urlchecker with certificate hashes, and notes backup/restore for migrating data.
