About wine-wayland

wine-wayland is a build of Wine intended to run DirectX 9, DirectX 11, DirectX 12 and Vulkan games on a Wayland session, using Wine and DXVK. The project's stated goals include moving away from X11 and reducing the number of system packages needed, including lib32 packages for 32-bit games. A companion launcher, wineland, can run games from folders the user sets up, and can download wine-wayland, DXVK and MangoHud on demand.

The project is tested on Archlinux or Manjaro with Linux 6.14 or later, and it documents AMD GPUs with Vulkan and Wayland support and at least 4GB of VRAM. Intel GPUs and GNOME are listed as not tested. Tested compositors are wayward (Weston-based) and sway (wlroots-based). Installation uses packages built from the project's PKGBUILD, and the 32-bit package is optional.
