About Algo VPN

Algo is a self-hosted personal IPSEC VPN server introduced by Trail of Bits. It is distributed as a set of Ansible scripts that automatically deploy a VPN in the cloud, using only modern protocols and ciphers and a minimal set of software. The deployed server is not shared with other users, works with common cloud providers, and does not require client software on most devices.

The design is deliberately narrow: it supports only IKEv2 with a single cipher suite. Deployment assumes you have access to a supported cloud provider, and the project is described on the Trail of Bits blog rather than as a commercial service.
