About Arrow Dl

ArrowDL (Arrow Downloader) is an open-source, standalone download manager for Windows, macOS and Linux. It is written in C++ using the Qt framework and embeds its own web engine, so it does not depend on third-party browser technology. Given a URL, it downloads the page, parses the HTML and collects the links it finds.

Key features

  • Standalone download manager for Windows, macOS and Linux
  • Downloads a given page, parses its HTML and collects links
  • WebExtension for Firefox, with Chrome, Edge and Safari targeted
  • Bundles its own web engine instead of relying on a third-party browser
  • Uses Gumbo HTML5 parser, or Chromium in the MSVC build
  • Chocolatey package available for Windows install and updates
Best for: Users on Windows, macOS or Linux who want a free, open-source standalone tool for collecting and downloading files from web pages.
Good for
  • Cross-platform and open source under LGPL-3.0
  • Works independently, with its own embedded web engine
  • Repository topics and build files cover batch, stream, picture and torrent/magnet downloading
Watch out for
  • Gumbo-based builds parse HTML only and do not parse JavaScript
  • The project offers no warranty and states that use is at the user's own risk
  • Repository notes that it contains copyrighted material not always authorized by the copyright owner
