About Free Download Manager official extension by freedownloadmanager.org
This is the official Firefox extension from the Free Download Manager developers. Its sole purpose is to connect Firefox with the Free Download Manager (FDM) desktop application. The extension itself does not manage downloads on its own and requires FDM to be installed to work properly.
With the extension installed, browser downloads can be sent to FDM for handling and organization. FDM supports HTTP, HTTPS, FTP and BitTorrent protocols and can download video from popular websites. It can split files into parts that download at the same time, resume downloads after connection loss, and schedule downloads for a later time. Other functions include drag-and-drop of links from the browser, preview of audio and video files before downloading, file conversion, and control of traffic usage.
It suits Firefox users on Windows, macOS and Linux who already use Free Download Manager and want browser downloads routed to the application.
