Xtreme Download Manager is a download accelerator and video downloader, with the project in active development.

About xdm
Xtreme Download Manager (XDM) is an open-source download accelerator and video downloader published on GitHub under the GPL-2.0 license, with apps for Windows, macOS and Linux. It splits downloads across multiple connections, resumes interrupted transfers, handles batch downloads, and can schedule downloads with parallel-download limits and shutdown when finished. It also detects and saves streaming video, including HLS (.m3u8) and MPEG-DASH (.mpd) streams muxed to MP4 without external tools.
A companion browser extension for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera, Vivaldi, Brave and other Chromium- and Firefox-based browsers hands downloads and detected media to the running app over a local-only connection (127.0.0.1:8597). Per the repository, nothing leaves the machine through that connection. The project states that as of 2026 XDM is being rebuilt and is in active development. No pricing information is published; building from source requires JDK 25 configured as a Maven toolchain and Maven.
