ArtCNN
ArtCNN collects single-image super-resolution models aimed at anime content, with architectures designed for different uses.

About ArtCNN
ArtCNN is a collection of simple single-image super-resolution models aimed at anime content. It offers C models optimized mostly for speed for real-time tasks such as video playback in ONNX and GLSL formats, and larger R models aimed mostly at non-real-time tasks such as rescaling in ONNX format.
It provides four configurations with different filter and parameter counts, plus variants for neutral luma doubling, denoising with sharpening or softening, chroma reconstruction, and JPEG artifact cleaning. Chroma variants are intended for 4:2:0 BT.709 YCbCr content after bilinear upscaling, and JPEG variants target specific 4:4:4 or 4:2:0 inputs. Shaders can be loaded in mpv, and models can be used in VapourSynth workflows.
Key features
- C architecture models for real-time video playback tasks
- R architecture models for non-real-time rescaling tasks
- Luma doublers with denoise-sharpen and denoise-soften variants
- Chroma reconstruction for 4:2:0 BT.709 YCbCr content
- JPEG artifact cleaning for 4:4:4 and 4:2:0 images
- GLSL shaders usable in mpv and VapourSynth
- Provides speed-focused and larger models for different tasks
- Offers C models in ONNX and as GLSL shaders
- Includes variants for luma, chroma, and JPEG artifact cleaning
- C models should only be used for real-time tasks like video playback
- R models are offered only in ONNX format
- Chroma models require bilinear pre-upscaling and specific YCbCr content
