Bookmarks Organizer is a Firefox WebExtension for checking and tidying a saved bookmark collection. It finds bookmarks that no longer work, redirects, duplicates, and bookmarks without a name, and it lets users edit or delete broken entries. The add-on is compatible with Firefox 60 and higher, but the latest version requires Firefox 115 or higher. It is open source and its code is hosted on GitHub.
Checking bookmarks works by sending requests to the bookmarked URLs. The add-on asks for permission to access all sites at runtime before it runs this check. Changing a bookmark's URL, or letting the add-on fix a redirect, can cause Firefox to drop the bookmark's tags, because Firefox binds tags to the URL rather than to the bookmark.

Why do tags disappear after a bookmark URL is edited or a redirect is fixed?
