SQL queries can be written and run in Franchise, an open-source browser notebook.

About franchise
Franchise is a browser-based SQL notebook for writing and running queries without signing up or installing anything. It runs a version of the SQLite engine in the browser, so processing happens locally, and CSV, JSON or XLSX files can be loaded by dragging them in. Queries can be forked and compared side by side, viewed as tables, card-style forms or charts such as scatter plots, bar and line charts and maps, and downloaded as a standalone HTML document containing queries, results and visualizations.
To query PostgreSQL, MySQL or BigQuery instead of local files, a database bridge is set up by running a single command in the terminal, which lets Franchise connect through the user's own computer. The app is designed for desktop use, and pricing information is not stated on the homepage.
