FreeTube is an open-source YouTube app described as being designed for privacy.

About Free Tube
FreeTube is an open-source desktop YouTube player for Windows 10 and later, macOS 12 and later, and Linux. It plays videos without ads, allows subscribing to channels without an account, and stores subscriptions, playlists and history locally on the computer. It retrieves data with a built-in extractor or optionally with the Invidious API, and does not use official YouTube APIs.
It is currently in beta, with bugs and missing features still being addressed. While it avoids Google cookies and JavaScript tracking, YouTube can still see video requests, and the project recommends using a VPN or Tor to hide an IP address.
