HDRView
HDRView supports examining and comparing high-dynamic-range images through a dedicated viewer.

About HDRView
HDRView is an open-source, research-oriented image viewer for examining and comparing high-dynamic-range (HDR) images. It runs on macOS, Linux, and Windows. A browser version is also available, but it is slightly limited, and the desktop build provides all features. The viewer is built to inspect image values, color spaces, and metadata, and to show how two images differ. Where it has to assume a file's color, it states the assumption and lets the user override it.
HDR output depends on the platform. On macOS, Windows, and Linux under Wayland, HDRView queries the display and converts to its HDR range. On Linux under X11 and in the browser build, output is SDR only.
Key features
- Per-pixel numeric readouts, with a pixel grid shown when zoomed in
- Watched pixels that show current, reference, and composite values at pinned points
- Rectangular selection statistics: min, max, average, standard deviation, NaN and infinity counts
- Comparison of two images through nine selectable blend modes
- Named gamut, illuminant, and transfer-function overrides for color interpretation
- Support for gainmap HDR images from recent phones, including JPEG, HEIC, AVIF, and UltraHDR
- Open source, with the source code available in a public GitHub repository
