Mockend
Mockend creates mock REST and GraphQL APIs from a file in a repository.

About Mockend
Mockend is a GitHub App that generates a hosted fake REST and GraphQL API from a mockend.yml configuration file in a GitHub repository. The file defines models, generated or user-supplied sample data, and relations between models. Once the file is committed, the API is available at mockend.com/api/{owner}/{repo}, and the homepage states that no server needs to be run or installed.
The service is intended for frontend work, prototypes, documentation and demos. Writes are accepted but not saved, so each use starts from the same dataset. The homepage describes a 14-day free trial, with billing handled through GitHub. Pricing is listed as trial in this directory entry.
Key features
- Generates sample data from over 100 random generators or user-supplied JSON
- REST and GraphQL endpoints with create, read, update and delete routes for each model
- Filtering, pagination and sorting on every model
- Declared relations between models, such as hasMany and belongsTo
- Optional key to keep an API hidden from the public internet
- API defined in a config file versioned with the code, with separate APIs per branch
- No server to run and nothing to install, according to the homepage
- The API definition is a file versioned with the code and reviewed in pull requests
- Writes are not persisted, so demos and tests start from the same dataset
- Requires a GitHub repository and installation of the GitHub Marketplace app
- Use beyond the 14-day free trial is billed through GitHub
- GitHub Enterprise and self-hosted instances require contacting the vendor
