About Offline Translator
Offline Translator is an open-source Android app that translates text, PDF/ODT documents and images using on-device models. It uses Firefox translation models for translation, PaddleOCR for image text, and cld2 for automatic language detection, with transliteration for non-Latin scripts and a built-in dictionary based on Wiktionary data. Language packs containing the full models are downloaded once, after which translation happens on the device and, per the project, is processed without requests to external servers. Roughly 60 languages are listed, including Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi and most European languages.
