About openHABian
openHABian provides a self-configuring Linux system setup for openHAB users. It is offered as an SD-card image pre-configured with openHAB for Raspberry Pi models, and as scripts that install openHAB and tools on Debian-based systems. By default it installs openHAB 5 and Java 21, with configuration options to install older openHAB versions before first boot.
It supports all Raspberry Pi models from version 1.6 onward, and can run on x86 systems where the operating system is installed manually. Other ARM-based boards may work or not, and NAS servers such as QNAP and Synology boxes will not work. Systems with 512 MB of RAM are limited to smaller setups.
