Plash
Plash uses websites as dynamic desktop wallpapers on macOS, including pages such as news sites or other web content.

About Plash
Plash is a Mac app that turns a website into the macOS desktop wallpaper. You can point it at a remote or local page — a calendar, a dashboard, a photo-of-the-day page, or an animated GIF — and add several websites to switch between. Enabling Browsing Mode lets you click around in the page, and settings cover custom CSS and JavaScript injection, custom reload intervals, and choosing which display shows the site. One website is shown at a time, and multiple-display support is currently limited to picking the display.
Key features
- Display a remote or local website as the desktop wallpaper
- Browsing Mode allows clicking and interacting with the page
- Add several websites and switch between them
- Automatically reload the website at a custom interval
- Add custom CSS and JavaScript, with screen width/height URL placeholders
- Choose the display, invert colors, lower opacity, mute audio
- Custom CSS and JavaScript allow tailoring the page, including scroll position and partial-screen layouts
- Automatically deactivates while the Mac is on battery
- Shortcuts support enables automation, such as switching to the next website
- Only one website can be shown at a time
- Multiple-display support is limited to choosing which display shows the website; a separate site per display is planned
- Interval-based switching depends on the third-party Shortery app, since Shortcuts automations cannot run at an interval
