About Torantulino/Auto-GPT

AutoGPT provides tools to build, deploy and run AI agents that carry out workflows. Users can describe an outcome in plain English with AutoPilot or define steps in a visual builder, then run agents on demand, on a schedule, or from a trigger. It includes an agents view for runs, costs and actions, and a marketplace for reusing and customizing agents. It is offered as a managed hosted Platform and as a self-hosted deployment from the same repository. The hosted Platform manages infrastructure, model access, credentials and updates. Self-hosting requires the user to provide infrastructure and model API keys and to maintain Docker-based setup; the Linux and macOS single-container installer was not yet released and Windows users use the manual guide.

Key features

  • Describe tasks in plain English to generate working agents
  • Build workflows in visual builder with drag, connect and branch blocks
  • Run agents on demand, on a schedule, or from triggers
  • Reuse and customize agents from the Marketplace library
  • Monitor agents, runs, costs and actions needing attention
  • Connect to 45+ platforms and hundreds of AI models
Best for: People who want to build and run task-based agents and choose between managed hosting and self-hosted control.
Good for

Torantulino/Auto-GPT FAQ

What is the difference between the managed Platform and self-hosting?
The managed Platform offers public signup, managed setup, built-in model access and managed updates. Self-hosting has no license fee but requires your own infrastructure, model API keys, Docker configuration and ongoing maintenance.
What is required to self-host AutoGPT?
You provide the infrastructure and model API keys and maintain the deployment with Docker and configuration. The planned Linux and macOS installer will require an already-running local Docker daemon with Linux containers on amd64 or arm64 and will not install Docker.
How can agents be run?
Agents can be run on demand, on schedules, and from triggers.
