About Windows clipboard history

Windows clipboard history is a built-in Windows 10 and Windows 11 feature. When you copy content, it is stored in a clipboard history so you can paste earlier items again. You can pin items you use often so they are kept, and you can choose to sync your clipboard history to the cloud across devices that use the same Microsoft or work account.

The source lists several limits. The history holds up to 25 copied entries, and older unpinned items are removed automatically to make room for new ones. Each item can be up to 4 MB, and only Text, HTML, and Bitmap formats are supported. Clipboard history is cleared when the PC restarts, except for pinned items. Support for Windows 10 ended on October 14, 2025.
