YouTube Video Finder searches several archive services for copies of YouTube videos and their metadata. It is intended for finding a private or deleted YouTube video when you already have its link. Without the link, the site cannot help.
You paste a link into the search box and click "Search for Captures." The results list each service and whether it has the video. Where an archived copy exists, a link to it is provided. Where none exists, the results may include text explaining how to retrieve the material. Metadata such as the title, description, and thumbnail can be used to search for a reupload that the site did not find. Some of the services queried are slow, so results can take time. As of 2026-03-05, the Wayback Machine CDX API is no longer checked for archived thumbnails because of rate limits and instability.
