About AgentVerse

AgentVerse is an open-source repository for deploying multiple LLM-based agents. It provides a task-solving framework where agents work together on tasks such as software development and consulting, and a simulation framework for setting up custom environments to observe or interact with agents.

It requires Python 3.9 or later and an OpenAI API key, or Azure OpenAI credentials, with additional dependencies for local models. The main branch is being refactored; users who need a stable simulation-only version are directed to the release-0.1 branch.

Key features

  • Assemble multiple agents to collaboratively complete tasks
  • Set up custom environments to observe agent interactions
  • Interact directly with agents in simulation environments
  • Use OpenAI API key or Azure OpenAI services
  • Run with local models such as LLaMA with extra dependencies
  • Install via source with Python 3.9 or via pip
Best for: Developers and researchers building or studying multi-agent LLM systems for task work and simulation.
Good for
  • Provides both task-solving and simulation frameworks in one repository
  • Supports OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, and local models with additional setup
  • Includes example applications such as NLP Classroom and Prisoner's Dilemma
Watch out for
  • Main branch is being refactored and may be unstable
  • Requires an OpenAI API key or Azure credentials to run
  • Requires Python 3.9 or later and manual installation steps
