Aria2 Next
aria2-next is a project that describes itself as a next-generation version of the aria2 download manager.

About Aria2 Next
Aria2 Next is an open source download engine that aims to replace the engine behind the aria2 download manager while keeping aria2's command line, configuration files, session files and JSON-RPC interface. Each protocol is handled by an external library, and the project's own code covers segment scheduling, the task queue, ED2K/Kad and the aria2-compatible interface. Supported protocols include HTTP(S), SFTP, BitTorrent and magnet links, ED2K and Kad, Metalink version 4, and HLS and DASH media streams.
Download progress is stored under --state-dir rather than in .aria2 files beside the downloaded data. A task resumes after a crash from its last checkpoint, and a paused task keeps its stored progress after a restart. Prebuilt artifacts are published on the GitHub Releases page for Linux, macOS, Windows and Android 7.0 or later. Building from source requires CMake 3.25 or later, Ninja, a POSIX shell, Make, Perl and a C11/C++20 toolchain.
The project does not provide FTP, Metalink version 3, XML-RPC, JSONP or the libaria2 C++ library. Task state from the original aria2 (.aria2 control files) is not imported.
