About Atuin

Atuin stores shell history in a SQLite database and records context such as exit code, working directory, hostname, session, and command duration. It provides a full-screen search interface and command-line search with filters for exit status, time, session, and directory.

History sync between machines is optional and encrypted, using the hosted sync server or a self-hosted server, or it can be left unused. It supports zsh, bash, fish, nushell, xonsh, and PowerShell, with Bash setup using bash-preexec for shell hooks.
