About Cambridge Structural Database

The Cambridge Structural Database contains curated experimental crystal structures for small-molecule organic and metal-organic compounds. It holds over 1.4 million 3D structures derived from X-ray, neutron, and electron diffraction, with coverage established in 1965 and historical structures dating to the 1920s.

Records include added information such as common names, bioactivity, natural source, polymorph and enantiomer cross-references, melting points, and crystal colour and shape. The content is available by subscription and is searched and viewed through WebCSD, with CCDC software used to work with public and proprietary, experimental and predicted data.

Key features

  • Over 1.4M 3D structures from X-ray, neutron, electron diffraction
