CLI
Run Cloudflare’s internet speed test from a terminal and view results in a text interface.

About CLI
CLI runs Cloudflare's internet speed test from a terminal and shows results in an interactive text interface. It measures download and upload throughput, idle and loaded latency, DNS resolution and TLS handshake timing, and UDP packet loss and jitter, with options for IPv4/IPv6 comparison, traceroute, proxy routing, interface binding, history review, and JSON or CSV export.
It uses endpoints from speed.cloudflare.com. Network information on Windows is incomplete, and SSID detection does not work on macOS Sonoma 14.4 and later.
Key features
- Measures download/upload throughput and idle/loaded latency
- Reports DNS resolution and TLS handshake timing each test
- Measures packet loss, jitter, and MOS-style link score
- Compares IPv4 vs IPv6 or forces one address family
- Optional ICMP traceroute to Cloudflare edge
- Saves results as JSON or CSV with text mode for scripting
- Open source under GPL-3.0 license
- Installable via Cargo, Homebrew, MacPorts, Nix, binaries, or Docker
- Includes interactive display plus text and JSON modes for scripting
- Network information on Windows is incomplete
- Cannot detect SSID on macOS Sonoma 14.4 and later
