Metastream
Metastream synchronizes streaming media across Chromium and Firefox, with sessions, chat, a shared queue, and host-managed playback permissions.

About Metastream
Metastream is a browser-based tool for watching streaming media with others at the same time. It works with Chromium and Firefox browsers and synchronizes playback across various websites.
Users can start public, private, and offline sessions and connect through WebRTC peer-to-peer connections. Sessions include real-time chat, a collaborative media queue, and timestamp cue points parsed from media descriptions. Playback includes auto-fullscreen of embedded media. The host manages per-user playback permissions and can remove other participants.
Website owners can add a watch party option by linking to Metastream with a media URL. As of August 2024, the project is no longer publishing under open source and is not accepting contributions, with version 0.10.4 available in the archive branch. It suits people who want synchronized viewing with chat and shared queue control.
