About OpenHands
OpenHands provides Agent Canvas, a self-hosted control center for running coding agents and automations. It runs locally by default and can connect to agent backends in Docker containers, on virtual machines, on company infrastructure, or optionally on OpenHands Cloud or Enterprise infrastructure.
It includes the open source OpenHands agent and supports third-party agents using the Agent-Client Protocol, such as Claude Code, Codex, and Gemini. Users can start conversations, switch between backends, and create automations that connect to services like Slack, GitHub, Linear, and Notion and run on a schedule or in response to webhook events. Running on a cloud server allows agents to continue when a laptop is shut.
