About oxker
oxker is an open source terminal user interface, written in Rust, for viewing and controlling Docker containers. It is built with the ratatui and Bollard libraries and is listed as a repository on GitHub.
The interface lists containers and lets the user run Docker commands on a selected container, sort and filter the list, view and search logs, and save logs to a file. Several settings, including the keymap and color scheme, can be changed in a config file. The directory lists the platform as Linux, and the repository also gives a Homebrew install for macOS. Exec into a container is not available on Windows.
Key features
- Lists Docker containers and runs Docker commands on the selected container
- Sorts containers by column heading and filters the list
- Shows container logs, supports log search, and saves logs to a file
- Opens an exec session into a selected container, except on Windows
- Inspect mode for individual containers
- Config file for keymap, color scheme, and other persistent settings
- Open source, with source code in a public GitHub repository
- Several install methods are documented, including Cargo, Docker images, Nix, AUR, and Homebrew
- Command line options set the Docker update interval, log timezone, and Docker host
- Exec into containers is not available on Windows
- The -g option runs a debugging mode with limited functionality, according to the source
- The Docker run examples mount /var/run/docker.sock, so the tool needs access to the Docker socket
