About WDC for Ionosphere and Space Weather

The World Data Center for Ionosphere and Space Weather preserves and distributes ionospheric and space weather data accumulated by Japan's National Institute of Information and Communications Technology. Holdings include Japanese domestic and Antarctic ionospheric observations dating to the International Geophysical Year in 1957-1958, space weather forecast data handled as an ISES Regional Warning Center, and older film, paper, and handwritten records converted to modern digital formats.

Users can download monthly reports for Japan, yearly reports for Syowa Station in Antarctica, ionosonde measurements, and specialized historical and solar-flare datasets. The site lists an acknowledgement requirement, the full data catalogue is marked as coming soon, and the service may be temporarily unavailable during network congestion.
