About AI Generation
AI Generation is a plugin that adds AI image generation to Krita for painting and editing workflows. It supports generation with optional text prompts, inpainting and outpainting, and controls such as selections, generation strength, region-specific prompts, and guidance from reference images, sketches, line art, and depth maps.
It uses ComfyUI as a backend and can run models locally or connect to an existing local or remote server, with cloud generation also available. It requires Krita 5.2.0 or newer on Windows, Linux, or macOS, and a graphics card with at least 6 GB VRAM (NVIDIA) is recommended; CPU-only operation is supported but very slow.
