bloom
bloom combines a self-hosted media server with a Nostr relay for decentralized media sharing.

About bloom
Bloom is a self-hosted application that combines a Blossom protocol media server with a Nostr relay in one package. It stores files on the user's own desktop or phone and implements BUD-00 through BUD-10, with blob storage and retrieval, mirroring from remote servers, NIP-94 metadata, and blossom:// URI support.
It runs on Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, and Windows, with background operation through system tray presence on desktop and foreground services or background tasks on mobile. iOS builds are currently unsigned, and the macOS build may require a quarantine-removal command to open.
Key features
- Upload, download, and manage files with SHA-256 content addressing
- Pull and verify blobs from remote Blossom servers
- Built-in Nostr relay runs alongside media server
- File metadata tags for Nostr event integration (NIP-94)
- Parse and resolve native blossom:// URI scheme
- Background sync via system tray and mobile background services
- Implements BUD-00 through BUD-10 for Blossom compatibility
- Stores files on the user's machine without third-party hosting
- Open-source code under GPL-3.0 license
- iOS builds are currently unsigned and should be used at own risk
- macOS build may be flagged as damaged and require a terminal command to open
