About Crystalline

Crystalline is an open-source implementation of the Language Server Protocol written in and for the Crystal programming language. It aims to provide limited language features such as go-to, autocompletion, and syntax and semantic checking, and works with any compatible code editor. Because of how the Crystal compiler works, a full-featured language server with all expected capabilities is not possible.

The project is passively maintained: the author states he is not regularly adding new features or fixing bugs. Installation is recommended via pre-built binaries (Linux x86_64, Arch Linux, macOS via Homebrew), with source builds possible but potentially slow. The README's compatibility table lists Crystal 1.21 with Crystalline 0.20.
